New regulations help veterans with PTSD | wisconsinrapidstribune.com | Wisconsin Rapids Daily Tribune

"New government rules have relaxed the requirements for veterans to see a doctor about Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and therefore make it easier to receive disability benefits.

In a region like central Wisconsin, which has seen the recent return of hundreds of troops, the changes are welcomed news at a great time. They will hopefully encourage more veterans to come forward for diagnosis.Veterans no longer have to prove they experienced traumatic events -- referred to as stressors -- to get into a psychologist's office to be diagnosed. Simply saying they experienced a stressor is now enough to get into the doctors office."
